Korn – The Path to Totality
Korn is still making albums. That doesn’t really matter much but I thought you should know.
Best Cut: “Let’s Go”
Stephane Grappelli – Improvisation
I happened upon this while seeing what my friends were listening to… it’s clean and beautiful and will make any evening magical. I could listen for days.
Best Cut: “A Nightingale Sang inBerkeley Square”
Amy Winehouse – Lioness: Hidden Treasures
I fully expect to hate any posthumous release and my sights were set low on this collection too… that’ll teach me. I listened. I listened again. It made me very sad that she was such a mess and she drank herself to death. I know people are responsible for their own actions but I think that one little rat she was attached to needs his ass kicked a couple of more times. Just saying
Best Cut: “Our Day Will Come” (A luscious cover)
Phish – Hampton/Winston-Salem ’97
It took FOREVER to listen to this entire collection. It clocks in at 5 million hours and covers many of Phish’s most beloved songs (whatever they are… I just figure that’s the case). 45 songs with half clocking in at over 10 minutes. There’s not enough acid in the world to make this good.
Best Cut: “Emotional Rescue” (A 17:45 cover of the Stones’ worst song)
Gorillaz – The Singles Collection 2001-2011
I wouldn’t suggest spending your hard earned money on a collection that contains songs you already probably have, but I like “Clint Eastwood” so much I thought I’d let you know this is out… in case you like spending your hard earned money on a collection that contains songs you already probably have.
Best Cut: “Clint Eastwood”
