Perhaps being known as “The Chief Justice Who Let Your Children Die” was too much for even John Roberts. So in this instance he sided with ‘the left’ while giving a talking point to ‘the right.’ HUGE TAX INCREASE! That drum beat will start later today… the only way to avoid it? Elect Mittens!

Anyway, the truth behind this whole thing is… the people who are against ‘Obamacare’ didn’t (and don’t) give a shit about the ‘mandate’… it was the only card they could play. And the mandate was originally a Republican idea AND a windfall for insurance companies. What these folks were really against was increased competition and the regulation of the more heinous (and highly profitable) aspects of the private insurance industry. At any other time if these “anti-Obamacarers” were able pass a law to require you to buy insurance AND never get any of that insurance’s benefits they’d do it in a heartbeat… they just hate hate hate BHO. Why?
He has ‘Democrat’ attached to his name.
That name sounds funny.
He’s a black man.
Here’s a few of the Supreme Court’s past rulings… it’s a branch of our government!  

Cookin’ – Clifford Brown
Adkins v. Children’s Hospital invalidated a minimum wage law for women in Washington D.C. What did that really mean? In complecated legalese… “Where’s my supreme court dinner, woman?”

Big Business – Horace Silver
The Citizens United Ruling! Yay! Corporations (and unions) can spend as much money as they wish in elections,  effectively granting complete human status to entities. And you don’t really know where that money’s coming from. And, as you know, $=elected office. Later on I’m going to get drunk and pick up a YUM! Food Franchise in a bar, take it back to my hotel room and make it talk dirty while I eat a juicy taco.

Slave Driver – Bob Marley
Dred Scott. Remember him. Of course you don’t, what is this a history class? He was a slave who sued to be free. He had lived in states and territories where slavery was illegal. What’d the court say? “Well, Dred (may we call you Dred?)… well, Dred you, and anyone else of African ancestry aren’t really Citizens so you have no right to sue in federal court.” They also ruled that Mr. Scott had to return to his ‘owner’ because he was property. The Chief Justice was also quoted as saying, “Blacks were ‘an inferior order and altogether unfit to associate with the white race’.” So to sum up these two rulings, Corporations = People. African Ancestry, Women = Not So Much.

Some Humans Ain’t Human – John Prine
Bush V. Gore. People still don’t know what was going on with this decision… but I do. Five votes elected the President of the United States. And thus, murdered your children in Iraq.

Separate But Equal – The American Dollar
Remember Plessy v. Ferguson? That was the separate but equal ruling. You see, the moronic Dred Scott Decision had been invalidated by the 13^th, 14^th and 15^th amendments. This ruling was just the Supreme Court’s way of making sure apartheid could continue in the south. Some people believe S But EQ is dead… I think it’s still around but slowly falling apart. If you believe it’s completely gone drive from Seal Beach CA to Santa Monica CA using only streets… then write me.
