2012 It All Comes Down to Money

If we want to get real about it, it all comes down to money. There’s a few people making a lot of it. There’re some institutions that are willing to do anything to keep it coming in. There’re a lot of people hangin’ pulling on the pockets of those with REAL cash who live on what falls out. And then there’s everyone else. There’s a lot of shouting going on right now… and you make think it all comes down to sex… but we have evolved to a state where even self preservation takes a back seat to wealth. Money.

Money Changes Everything – The Smiths
So JoePa and the other three asshats at Penn State showed no regard for the child victims of Jerry Sandusky. I’ve known it all along. On ESPN this morning Matt Millen pointed the ultimate blame at the president of Penn State but deep inside he knows the truth. The blame is Paterno’s. Penn State’s football team is a huge money boon to the school. Paterno was the most powerful person at the school because he ran that football team. Paterno looked the other way when children were being violated. Senior leadership did as well, because they knew… prestige, power and money came with keeping Paterno and the football program happy and without incident. JoePa’s rotting in the ground. The others are rotting inside. For money.

The truth is easy understand once you find it. It may seem like a continual struggle of party Vs. party and conservative Vs. liberal but the first decision is always about maximizing the almighty dollar. If you believe the decisions politicians make are conservative or liberal you’re deluding yourself from the true fact that they are monetary. If it wasn’t the case there would have never been a “health care debate“ but it’s plainly easy to see that taking care of everyone, health wise, is good for us all and the moral thing to do. Except for the money.

Shitloads Of Money – Liz Phair
It’s a little hot out there. We are pumping tons of sh*t into our atmosphere. We are, ever so slightly, changing our climate. A slight change to our climate won’t kill the earth… but it may kill humanity. Why are certain groups of people so fired up about “the myth of global warming?” Why are large corporations, their ‘paid for’ politicians and the few ‘scientists’ willing to be bought insisting it’s a myth. Because reality will cost them more money that you can ever imagine. It’s a much easier decision to kick the ‘climate’ can down the road than it is to change the way we live. The problem is… kicking the can dooms us all. All for money.

Million Dollar Bash – Bob Dylan and the Band
There’s a cool story out today about Bob Dylan going electric. It seems there’s a dispute about the guitar he used. A woman, who had it authenticated, claims she’s in possession of the red Fender Strat. Dylan’s reps say Bob still owns it. The twist comes from the woman having contacted Dylan’s people seven years ago and them asking her to “return” the guitar. Now they claim to have it. Why? Well, it’s not the kinds of money we’ve been talking about but the guitar is now valued at $500,000 due to historic significance. $10 or $10 Billion, people will do anything for money.

Billion Dollar Babies – Alice Cooper
Bristol Palin has a Lifetime TV show. Who is Bristol Palin? She’s the not very attractive, not very smart daughter of a pseudo-attractive, not very smart woman who quit being governor of Alaska after failing in an effort to be vice president. The show is populated with just who you’d imagine a show of this sort would be populated with including her son who, it seems, was born when one of her lovers rubbed his Levis a little too hard against her chastity belt. Or something like that. Why is this nonsense being pumped into American homes. It’s an attempt to squeeze the very last ounce of money out of the few people/vegetables who haven’t caught on to the fact that Bristol’s mom is a snowbilly grafter. Needless to say that turns out to be about 14 viewers because the show is about to disappear like a white rabbit in a Wasilla snow storm. Money?
